Background

A client I work with on another part of their business was impressed by my marketing advice and commissioned me to help them launch their new Shopify e-Commerce site.

They had been trying for months to get the site ready for launch and wanted help with an actionable plan they could use to make it happen. 

Sick of haemorrhaging cash and not getting any sales or even website views it was time for the site to go live and a real plan be written to make it all happen. 

Aims

  • To ensure that the site was going to convert to sales
  • To look over how the site had been built (I was not the site builder) and detail any CRO improvements needed
  • To write a comprehensive marketing plan for the business. One that had real actions that could be following and not just top level marketing hype

Solution

  • Performed a full system audit (including SEO) to document the site and what marketing was in place 
  • Recommended some changes to the look and navigation of the site to make it more CRO friendly
  • Identified areas where SEO needed to be performed
  • Produced a 45 page marketing plan for the first 12 weeks after launch as well as how to scale the business after that date.

The Results

  •  So far none of the CRO or marketing has been implemented but it is encouraging to see that sales have occurred. (Real sales not just tests of the sale process)
  • Base line metrics have been noted so that as improvements are made changes can be assessed.
