What are the key steps to getting your SEO optimised?
- Ensure all technical aspects are covered. This is achieved by running an SEO report that analyses your website for all the technical aspects of SEO e.g speed, title, description, robot txt, ssl, alt tags on images etc
- Identify your keywords using a keyword search tool. Don’t forget to also find long – tail keywords. Look for the top 100 that have high and medium search numbers
- Add an SEO plugin to your website. Yoast SEO if using WordPress. If using Shopify and Wix these platforms have inbuilt SEO settings
- Setup the website SEO settings using the keywords identified. Making sure you pay attention to internal pages as well as the home page
- Ensure your keywords are used in ALL of your website copy, including any blogs
- Complete a comprehensive content strategy for at least the next 3 months. This includes all social media channels (FB, IG, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn), blogs and emails. Posts should be much more than you think you need, especially when starting to optimise SEO
- Create social media content, emails and blogs that are readable on mobile devices
- Setup Google My Business
- Strategise what you can afford in paid ads – Google, YouTube and Meta are the key channels
- Audit your SEO and tweak regularly
